22.5w Super Fast Charing and 15w Wireless Fast Charging Mobile Power
Recently, based on the wireless charging chip and its own product development experience in the field of mobile power supply, ISMARTWARE has launched two wireless charging mobile power supply reference designs.
Not long ago, ISMARTWARE released its first wireless charging SoC chip SW5100 and is licensed with WPC, QI-ID:9269. Recently, based on the wireless charging chip and its own product development experience in the field of mobile power supply, ISMARTWARE has launched two wireless charging mobile power supply reference designs. The mobile power supply is divided into two types of maximum power of 22.5w and 18W, and the maximum output power of wireless charging part is 15W.
The two wireless charging mobile power reference designs launched by ISMARTWARE were developed using SW6208+SW5100 and SW6201+SW5100, respectively. Both solutions adopt minimal circuit design and only use two chips to realize the two-way fast charging mobile power function and Wireless Charging function. 1. Appearance of ISMARTWARE 22.5W super-fast charging + 15W wireless fast charging mobile power solution
The solution is designed and developed based on ISMARTWARE’s latest super fast charging mobile power chip SW6208 and wireless charging chip SW5100. The mobile power part continues the excellent performance of SW6208. One chip solves the buck-boost control, protocol identification, and 5 charging interface control, LED power display and other complex functions, the biggest feature is to support 22.5W super fast charging. The wireless charging part uses the ISMARTWARE SW5100 main control chip, which realizes the compatibility of the four powers of 5W, 7.5W, 10W, and 15W, and achieves an extremely streamlined peripheral circuit.
ISMARTWARE SW6208 is a highly integrated multi-protocol two-way fast charging mobile power dedicated all-in-one chip, which supports fast charging at any port of A+A+B+C+L. It integrates 5A high-efficiency switch charging, 22.5W high-efficiency synchronous boost output, supports PPS, PD, QC, AFC, FCP, SCP, PE, SFCP and other fast charging protocols, power metering, digital tube/LED light display and corresponding control management logic. Only a few peripheral components are needed to form a complete high-performance two-way fast charging mobile power solution.
ISMARTWARE sw5100 is a wireless fast charging and transmitting chip which supports the maximum power of 15W. It conforms to wpc1.2.4 standard and supports 5W BPP and 15W EPP, which integrates high voltage buck converter, 2 and LDO, 3 groups of NMOS drivers, ask decoding circuit and FSK modulation circuit, supports SCP, FCP and other output protocols; integrates 32-bit processor, which can be flexibly configured according to user’s requirements, and with a small number of peripheral devices, it can form a complete high-performance wireless charging and transmitting terminal solution. It is suitable for the design and development of wireless charger, wireless charging mobile power supply, wireless charging speaker and other products.

The mobile power part of the reference design is equipped with two USA-A fast charging output interfaces, a USB-C bidirectional charging interface, a lightning input interface and a microusb input interface.
In order to facilitate customer testing, the solution also has a usb-c interface on the side, which is mainly used for the separate power supply of wireless charging module, which is convenient for customers to test the wireless charging module separately. It is worth mentioning that the wireless charging module can support a maximum output of 15W, whether it is powered by the battery of mobile power supply or independently powered by usb-c interface.
22.5W Super Fast Charging and 15W Wireless Fast Charing Mobile Power Tests
The two positive and negative wires reserved in the reference design are connected with the positive and negative electrodes of the battery to form a simple wireless fast charging mobile power supply.
Firstly, the output protocols of the two usb-a interfaces are tested. Power-z kt002 shows that it supports apple2.4a, Samsung 5V / 2a, qc3.0, qc2.0, DCP, AFC, FCP, SCP and other charging protocols.
Usb-c interface output includes not only usb-a output protocol but also USB pd3.0 (PPS) fast charging protocol.
The PDO message of the USB-C port shows that there are three sets of fixed voltage gears of 5V/2A, 9V/2A, and 12V/1.5A, and two sets of PPS voltage gears of 5-5.9V/3A and 5-11V/2A.
When the mobile power bank is used to charge Huawei P30 Pro mobile phone, the display voltage is 4.9V, the current is 4.24A, and the charging power is about 20.8W, which successfully supports the Huawei SCP super fast charging mode.
When the mobile power supply is battery powered, the test fixture detects that the output voltage is about 5.15v, the current is about 0.89a, and the power is about 4.58w in 5W mode, which supports BPP 5W wireless charging.
In the 7.5W mode, the current detected by the test fixture is about 6.12v, the voltage is about 1.07a, and the power is about 6.5W. It supports apple 7.5W wireless fast charging.
In 10W mode, the output voltage is about 9.08v, the current is about 1.07a, and the power is about 9.7w. It supports Samsung 10W wireless fast charging.
In the 15W mode, the output voltage is about 9.11v, the current is about 1.65A, and the charging power is about 15W. It supports EPP 15W wireless fast charging.
When the Samsung S10 + mobile phone is charged wirelessly, the screen of the mobile phone displays “wireless accelerating charging”, indicating that the mobile phone has entered the wireless fast charging mode.
When charging the iPhone 11 Pro max, the phone can enter the wireless charging mode normally.
When charging the iPhone 11 se, the phone can enter the wireless charging mode normally.
When charging Huawei P30 pro, the mobile phone can enter the wireless charging mode normally.
When charging one plus eight pro, the mobile phone can enter the wireless charging mode normally.
When charging Meizu 17 pro, the mobile phone can enter the wireless charging mode normally.
When an iron block is placed on the wireless charging coil, the foreign matter detection function of the wireless charging module will be triggered immediately, and the start indicator will turn from red to white, and then the output will be turned off and enter the self-protection mode.
In addition to the sw6208 mobile power module, the sw5100 also supports the use with other mobile power modules. At the same time, sw5100 can also be separated for the design and development of wireless fast charging charger. Therefore, in the design of the scheme, ISMARTWARE added a usb-c power supply interface to the wireless charging module.
When the external adapter is used to power the sw5100 wireless charging scheme, the test input voltage of power-z kt002 is 7.78V, the current is 0.85a, and the power is about 6.65w; the output voltage of wireless charging is 5.15v, the current is 0.88a, and the power is about 4.53w.
In apple 7.5W wireless fast charging mode, the input voltage is 9.14v, the input current is 1a, and the input power is about 9.3w; the output voltage is 6.2V, the output current is 1.09a, and the output is about 6.76w.
In Samsung 10W wireless fast charging mode, the input voltage is 9.14v, the input current is 1.39a, the input power is about 12.7W; the output voltage is 9.22v, the output current is 1.09a, and the output is about 10.04w.
In the EPP 15W fast charging mode, the input voltage is 10.35v, the input current is 1.76a, and the input power is about 18.29w; the output voltage is 9.09v, the output current is 1.65A, and the output is about 15.32w.
In the external power supply mode, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is normally charged, the input voltage is 9.14v, the current is 1.25A, the input power is about 11.52w, and it enters apple 7.5W fast charging mode.
When charging the Samsung S10 + mobile phone, the input voltage is 9.36v, the current is 1.07a, and the input power is about 10.03w. The mobile phone enters the Samsung 10W wireless fast charging mode.
When charging Huawei’s P30 Pro mobile phone, the input voltage is 9.15v, the current is 0.89a, and the wireless charging input power is about 8.2w. The mobile phone is normally charged.
When charging the one plus 8 Pro mobile phone, the input voltage is 9.36v, the current is 1.13a, the input power of wireless charging is about 10.6w, and the mobile phone is normally charged.
When charging Meizu 17 Pro mobile phone, the input voltage is 11.98v, the current is 0.84a, the wireless charging input power is about 10W, and the mobile phone is normally charged.
Nowadays, wireless charging has become the standard configuration of mainstream mobile phones. According to our statistics, at present, there are 132 models supporting wireless fast charging. Famous mobile phone brands such as apple, Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, oppo, Meizu, Yijia and other well-known mobile phone brands have entered the Bureau, and the wireless charging power has gradually increased. Although there are many wireless charging accessories on the market, there are few wireless charging mobile power supply supporting 15W fast charging, and the products supporting 22.5w super fast charging, USB PD fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging are even less.
The sw6208 + sw5100 super fast charging wireless charging mobile power supply solution introduced by ISMARTWARE fills in this market vacancy. As a mobile power supply, this scheme integrates 22.5w super fast charging, full protocol, 15W wireless fast charging and other functions for the first time, and only uses two chips to achieve a very simple peripheral device.
Through the test, we found that ISMARTWARE sw5100 wireless fast charging module can support 5W, 7.5W, 10W and 15W output modes whether it is powered by sw6208 controlled battery or by external charger, and can normally charge mainstream wireless charging mobile phones in the market, such as iPhone, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Meizu and Yijia.
